New Moon Circle
Learn & Set Intentions
The Jewish Wheel of the Year has been lifted up by Jewish women for millenia. Originally, the celebration of the New Moon started as a prayer stewarded by women to pray for the return of the moon. Priestesses would gather to watch for the return of the sliver of the New Moon, then inform a counsel of the moon's return, bless the moon, and light a fire atop the highest hilltop to alert the neighboring villages about the return of the moon. This ancestral practice, Rosh Chodesh, allows us to become immersed in the innate knowledge of taking time to reflecrt each month, to give gratitude for the cosmic bodies that ground us, and to honor the cyclical nature of life.
As Jewish tradition experiences a renewing of ancestral traditions, especially those cultivated by women, femmes, and queer folks, we are once again returning to this ancestral practice and all the ancestral texts, energetic associations, and rituals associated with the turning of each moon.
In our New Moon Circles, we dive deep into these energetic affinites in order to understand the shifts that occur in the world around us. Much of our time together is reflecting on the past month and setting intentions for the upcoming one, with accountability and camradierie at the center.
Our New Moon Circle allows community members to cultivate each persons unique gifts and supports folks in sharing those gifts in service for the liberation of all beings.
Full Moon Circle
Dream Interpreation
Every culture and every tradition has always had practices related to uncovering the knowledge of dreams and dreaming. The Full Moon Circle utilizes ancestral Jewish traditions and contemporary scientific methods to discuss rituals for remembering your dreams, getting a better night's sleep, sharing your dreams in community, interpreting the dreams of others, and learning about archetypes of dreams. Weaving together the Havatat Chalom, an ancestral Jewish court of dreamers who hear/d dreams and shared interpretations and the work of the Undertorah from Rabbi Jill Hammer, our Full Moon Circle meets to share knowledge, learn from our ancestors, and move the nightmares from the dream and waking world into fuel for a liberation-based reality.
Full Moon Circles are for folks who are experiencing conventional dreams and nightmares. If you are experiencing PTSD-related nightmares or other kinds of nightmares related to hormonal imbalance, traumatic events, or anything likewise, please seek support in my 1-1s and through other supportive practioners.
